Nothing like lots of bright color, and a pinata filled with fake lashes and Halloween stuff,to beat the birthday blues. The decor was bursts of color, Hinduism, Buddhism,Indian, and Moroccan decor, with pretty, healthy food! And always candles and flowers. I made tea sandwiches, and served hummus, tabbouleh, and pita. I picked up my favorite goat cheese wrapped up in blueberry vanilla goodness. When I’m in a hurry I always put out fresh Italian deli meats, cold cuts, cheese, and a baguette. I also served up some fruit and Oreo s with a health fresh whipped honey cream dip. Lots of wine, and Buddha beers were also present.
I live for Dives
I had to go to Perry’s Cafe for breakfast on my birthday. It has such a retro, dive, road trip, diner, kind of feel to it. I used to go there when I was younger, on special occasion,we were poor! Anyways it is really cool and the vibe is so old school it feels like smoking should be allowed in there. It has a bowling alley kind of feel, I love the old coffee pots and outdated decor. It is kind of dark, and you can see the light peaking through the forest green blinds, and through the entrance. Locals are at the bar reading the paper while they slowly eat their huge American comfort breakfasts. VIPs,Love! Endless coffee, a silver pot of creamer, and a sassy waitresses. I could sit there all day and drink coffee and read.I need to do a photo shoot there. I had a huge fluffy strawberry pancake with butter, whipped cream, and syrup. Bacon, and Orange juice, yes please. I indulged and it felt good. A lot of happiness there, a perfect start to my birthday.
Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness
I have so many memories with this album. I loved It. It was by no means my favorite album, but great to escape, and paint to when I was younger. Which one was my favorite? I always liked both discs. I was living in a really shitty brown apartment in an alley off El Cajon blvd, in North Park. We lived across a laundry mat and liquor store in one. I think I was 13. I shared a bedroom with my brothers and mom, and the whole room was seperated by those little accordion walls. We all shared a land line! LOL. My area had a cave crevice like cutout in the wall, where I claimed first. I decorated it with white sheer curtains, pillows, and a blue light. I was young, but I would drink, smoke pot, and just listen to music. Cranberries, and Bjork, Operation Ivy were big in rotation in my little blue living space. It was my own little sanctuary in my crazy messed up world. All I had was my sony walkmen, a small stereo, stacks of cds, my backpack, disposable cameras, clothes, and art supplies. Oh and a little orphan orange kitty I named Kodak, he was really cute, and good company. Anyways, I connect this album to those days of peeping into cool coffee shops(pre Starbucks takeover), stops at record stores, 711,video stores, and waiting for class to get out.Music was my everything growing up and helped me cope with life. I really am happy For this album and living the tail end of a different world.

Halloween is Everyday
Its that time of year again, my favorite, Halloween. I celebrate the entire month of October and love that I get to dress up a little more than usual. The Halloween super stores are open for business, and every other store decks out their isles with masks, props, makeup, fake blood, candy, skulls, bones, black cats, bats, rats, crows, eyeballs, spiders, and other cool stuff. Tombstone topped black nail polish, crazy lashes, horror movie overload, and mass amounts of misfits. Fake spiderweb everywhere! The packaging on products get their annual makeover, so does Hello kitty. I love making creepy desserts and watching all the other creative concoctions people are making through tumblr, pintrest, facebook, and all other media. I love attending parties, going out, and seeing all the amazing costumes. Halloween is the best. I dressed up a lot last year, but this year I want to get less lazy and more creative. The pics above are some Ideas for costumes and makeup for this year.
Corpse bride, Beetlejuice, Miss Argentina –Tim Burton, Princess Coo Coo, Desperate Living-John Waters. (Vagina Wrestler outfit same movie). Monster High dolls.
Buttwiser
Another hot day, Stagolee came on, and inspired me to throw on some cut offs, ankle boots, and my buttwiser tee. Then I hit the town.

Are you moonlighting? I… I just want to work long hours. What’s moonlighting?
Slept In! It was HOT today, so I went to the pool, tanned, swam, and drank mass amounts of Iced Coffee. I shopped for today’s crafting supplies, and had a yummy taro slush boba! Then I made some tea, shut my bedroom curtains, lit my lavender vanilla candle, put on Phantom of the Opera, and made sleep masks, a hello kitty highball glass, and a fairydust necklace. Then I did some laundry, went out for dinner, had beers, and cuddled up in bed and watched Taxi Driver. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Taxi Driver 1976 – Martin Scorsese
If you haven’t seen this movie, please watch it. Here are two bad ass quotes from the film.
” Listen, you fuckers, you screwheads. Here is a man who would not take it anymore. A man who stood up against the scum, the cunts, the dogs, the filth, the shit. Here is a man who stood up.
“Loneliness has followed me my whole life, everywhere. In bars, in cars, sidewalks, stores, everywhere. There’s no escape. I’m God’s lonely man.”
Dreamy Rich Brie & Mushroom Soup
You should make this, it’s so easy, and heavenly rich and buttery. Serve with wine and a fresh toasted or warm baguette.
For a really good recipe try: http://www.mrfood.com/Soup-Recipes/Brie-Mushroom-Soup#
But like any recipie make it your own. I used a little extra (herbed) butter and olive oil, and sea salt, to saute the veggies before adding the broth. I also used beef broth instead of chicken. I also use a bit more cheese then recommended. Yum!
coffee & champagne
Adventuring, lounging, and living in the new fuzzy bear hat I made. It is so cute, cozy, and I love it. I found this cute milky coffee colored dress at work that goes perfectly with the hat. I can’t stop wearing my new champagne metallic Jeffrey Campbell platforms, they go with everything. I wish everyday could be filled with sleeping in then coffee, a chocolate and whipped cream fruit crepe for breakfast, more coffee, daytime drinking in the backyard, music, talking, lounging, all before making an amazing early dinner for my babe and friends. I made the best brie and mushroom soup ever! Then endless movie watching, warm baguettes, and wine. Live life, Love Life. Wake and Bake.
