You have to be an artist and a madman, a creature of infinite melancholy, with a bubble of hot poison in your loins and a super-voluptuous flame aglow in your subtle spine (oh, how you have to cringe and hide!), in order to discern at once, by ineffable signs—the slightly feline outline of a cheekbone, the slenderness of a downy limb, and other indices which despair and shame and tears of tenderness forbid me to tabulate—the deadly little demon among the wholesome children; she stands unrecognized by them and unconscious herself of her fantastic power. My favorite line in Lolita. I scored this obnoxious white billows blouse at work and it reminded me of Lolita. I paired it with some high waist-ed red shorts, a hello kitty backpack, pink ruffled socks, cherry earrings, saddle shoes, and heart sunnies. I love the wardrobe in each version of the film, and ones I imagine in my head. I love her character, the effortless lazy school girl in braids and bows, meets a glamorous aspiring adult with stained lips and rosy cheeks. A sexy little girl always in socks, with a lollipop or smacking gum, with tons of attitude, a curiosity of older men figures, and selfish bratty behavior. I can go on and on about my empathy to this twisted character. Anyways I totally got into it today and above are a few pics of my look today.
